i went there last saturday and ran 13.1 at 106...was hopin for mid/low 12's..but almost everyone i know that was there that day were running almost a second slower than usual
I had my personal worst 16.338 @ 72.89. I still beat the civic next to me. He ran a 19.99 @ 62. My best was 13.36@ 115.73 and that was running 11lbs in first and second and running progressively more boost in each gear until I hit 28 pounds in 5th. The clutch would hold fine when I did this but if I launched it I pretty much just sat still. The run would have been a little better had I not missed third. But I made up for missing third by hitting third twice on the next run. 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 and back to 3 instead of 5. According to the avcr I hit 8590 rpms. I guess its time for a new clutch.
Those times are around the time I ran. I only ran my car once at Commerce and ran a 13.6 @ 99mph. My best 0-60 time was 5.2.
Does one normally use fifth gear at a dragstrip?I did not realize that our cars were geared that way.I used to drag my mustang and it would just about pull 100 in third.
next weekend..i will be there. i know their are a few cobras that show up, but would be nice to see the subies.
I am going back to a ceramic 6 puck. The flywheel and pressure plate should be in decent shape since the kevlar is not as rough on them as ceramic. Getting the clutch plate re-pucked should be less than 100. Its just the time to do it that sucks.
