Kinda new here and I wanted to share my recent fix for my sliding sub on my '02.

As background, I started with velcro, which worked for a while. When the carpet started sliding around, I used zip ties on some plastic zip tie attacher things attached to the box with adhesive. That worked for a while until the adhesive wore out. Then I went with the "I just moved and never cleaned out my trunk" fix by eliminating all space for subwoofer movement.

Out went the junk in the trunk and that thing was flying around back there again. I felt like trying bungee cords this time.

I also found a novel use for the worthless carpet by using it a cushion between the frame and the clanking worthless particle board spare cover.

I honestly didn't think this setup was going to hold it, but I have been trying to dislodge it for the last week and no movement at all. I am beginning to like the no carpet look. Anybody else have any better bungee routing ideas?

Make 4 metal brackets for each corner of the box, and bolt that SOB to the trunk.

    FTZ ^.^

I used 2 6 screw L brackets to mount my box down, however, I also built a false floor, so I had more to mount the box to then that flimsy little Spare Tire cover. My box doesn't move a millimeter. If I want to get it out I need to remove the rear seat to be able to get to the 6 screws mounting to either the box or the false floor.

It hopefully would work as a theft deterrent also. If someone tries to steal my shit, they will have a hard time doing it. That could also be a bad thing though. Since they already broke into the car, if they can't get my equipment out, they may decide to just smash it all.

i know someone else that has used bungee straps for years in his wrx and they work great. actually uses them to hold down his sub and his battery which is also mounted in the trunk

  5. If you go to Target or Walmart, go to where they sell contact paper and you will see this "grip liner". This is perfect for sliding enclosures. You simply roll it out where you want and place the enclosure on top. It does not stick to anything and you can hide it 100% under the box. It is like $3-4 for a roll.
