What would you all think about planning a small Caravan to drive up to Greenville, SC and visit the BMW plant there? Ive been there once before and its relatively fascinating watching them throw them together. I know that they will cater to large groups. At this plant they make the Z's and X series for the world. You can vary well see a car / engine combo that we'll never see in this country, etc.

    Would anyone be interested?

Don't forget the Museum filled with the best BMW's ever made. Oh and don't forget that driving in S.C. presents the opportunity to be pulled over by an officer in a 7 series..:ugh: .I would be down with this depending on dates...

Are they letting people back into the plant now? I went back in 02 or so when my older sister went to school up there and we could go to the museum but not the factory.

Too long of a drive for me.

Sounds like a great idea! My 4th plans the past two years have consisted of simply driving out to the Mall of Georgia and watching their display then going home. While it's pretty, the traffic on the way out of the parking lot SUCKS!

I actually have a 4-day weekend for the 4th (again, I <3 govt. jobs!) so pretty much any day works for me. :D

Edit: I almost forgot the original idea for the post! The BMW plant tour sounds like it would definately be worth the drive. It ultimately depends on which day it gets scheduled for, but I'd love to go!

sounds pretty fun to me, its something different thats for sure. Let me know dates and i will do my best.

  16. Would we be back in a day..? I mean it does seem like an awfully long drive (not complaining..would be fun) but i'm doubtful I could get my parents to agree to this (cant wait for college)

Its definately doable in one day. Last time I went, I was back by 9 or 10pm.

I just drove by there 4 times a couple weekends ago. I'm up for going up there. Is there any cost to get in?
