Found a good deal on some 18x8 OZ ultraleggeras with near new nitto invos two weeks ago and snatched them up. The one beef I had with them was that they were black. So, this weekend I ran out to summit racing to get some duplicolor bronze wheel paint and got to work. All in all it took a day and a half to get everything off, sanded, prepped, painted, cleared and back on again. I sanded with 320 grit paper and followed with 3 coats of bronze and them 4 coats of clear. I love the way it turned out and for <$30 I can't complain. We will see how they withstand the test of time. Here they are black and on the car Prepped First coat of bronze Finished product
well done. I remember back in my ricer days when I was doing mine, it looked like shit. Nice job sir.
agreed with above comments. i rattle canned my bmw wheels a month or so ago, and you can only tell in some spots. but mine are black and show every imperfection. you get better with practice and it helps to do it right, which you obviously did. looks great!
Those look awesome!!..i was thinking about doin my stock wheels but I didnt think you could make it look good..gonna have to re-think it now:bowdown:
