I am looking for something light to moderate weight, SA00-05, moderately attractive and not overpriced. I will be ordering through my buddy at summit, so the price is somewhat reduced. Anyways, here are the 3 options. Let's vote Numero Uno! -- Gforce Pro 1 (cheapest) The G-FORCE Pro Force 1 is a brand new helmet with super sleek styling. A Z38 composite shell keeps this helmet light on your shoulders. Keep cool with the integral G-Flow ventilation system that brings in cool air and vents the hot air out of the top and back of the helmet. A CoolTec liner helps keep you comfortable. The new SpeedFit shield system allows you to change out the optically correct scratch-resistant face shield in seconds without the need for any tools. These helmets include factory-mounting points for the G-FORCE Racing Gear SRS-1 helmet restraint system. $249.99 list. Numero Dos! -- Simpson Bandit (GI Joe) The Bandit series helmets are characterized by their distinctive, style-setting appearance and profile that follow the contour of the eye and face. One of the most recognizable helmets, the redesigned, trend-setting Bandits are also one of the most popular helmets today. $389.95 list. Numero Tres! -- Bell X-15 (paintball mask) The full-face X-15 helmets from Bell Racing give you room in the front chin area, are Snell SA00 certified, and have a KEVLAR® chinstrap. They feature Bell's ThermoFlex? shell with hand-laid lamination and thermo-set resin for a strong, standard-weight shell. The FR-Plus? interior is a fire-resistant, high performance fabric designed to help your helmet last longer. Ventilation in the top, front, and chin area helps to keep the airflow moving and prevent fogging. $339.95 list. What else is going into my order at summit? Some misc. stuff. Gorilla "Tuner" Lugs Thin walled impact sockets and some other jizzunk
looks like you'll have the best vision out of #1 (which is second to safety, of course). I'd say go try them on and see which one works best. #1 for looks though
What are the costs?? I'm about to spend $15 to rent one tommorrow night... If there not too expensive, I might as well buy one 4 future use...
They're all to spec, so only pay more if you're gonna wear it for style. 'Course, the guy who said "try them on and buy which ever one fits better" may have a point. I have the GForce, and it's fine for me. I did pull on a couple at Discovery Parts. I don't know if they have their new store front open. DD
why not open face. save a buck. or i can call my old roomate for some prices if you like. his dad owns holcomb motorsports
I actually plan to try the three brands on next week. I currently have a bell and thus am partial to it; however, the brand which fits my head the best will be the choice for the day. I will be getting quite nice prices, but we'll see whats up. These are the cheapeast of each basically so I just thought I'd throw it out there. In order of expensiveness, the simpson takes the cake; next is bell, and finally gforce. I completely forgot to throw that in in my original post. Why full face? Personal preference and safety.
Ive updated the first post with descriptions and prices This post is more for other people to know helmet options out there that are reasonably affordable, safe, SA rated, etc.
well you know i got the flat black simpson, and i couldn't be happier with it you can prob get it cheaper at helmetcity.com i've had two other guys try it on (one with his glasses) and both were very impressed with how light it is and how well it fits. i can't wait to put my irken badge on it
This is the best option. Done. I have a black Simpson Bandit and like it. The Bell and G-Force didn't fit my head as well as the Simpson. My breathing didn't fog it up, and my glasses fit on nicely inside of it.
Yep, as I said, next week I'll be trying them on. The simpson and bell feature a similar design, one that is shaped to better fit your noggin. I cant decide if I want to go black or white on the simpson. The black/white contrast is so gi joe / storm trooperish
