it wont let me reflash to stage 2? i have an sti axle-back and a helix catless DP. i`ll switch the map to stage 2, and when i check the current map thingy, it still reads stage 1..? ahah maybe because i changed the map like 5 times today to see the difference. someone help me.. and wth is a stage 2 93 hwg v 103 map?
You have to do the change base map thing... There's one where you can change "on the run" but it doesn't save, and there's one that actually changes the basemap. IIRC, to change the basemap you will have to run through the whole "plugin the test plug under the steering column" thing again.
you DON'T want to run the stg 2 map unless you've got your up-pipe replaced. The stg2 93 is for 93 octane gas. the stg2 103 is for 103 octane gas (race gas). Do NOT run the 103 map.
doesn't that mean version 103, not 103 octane gas? i'd be more concerned he's running the high wastegate (hwg) real time map. You're only supposed to run that if you can't make target boost on the standard map. You need to reflash the standard stg 2 base map. I think it's fine with a catted up. The shredded turbos are uncommon but you're assured of hearing the horror stories.
What everyone else says. You have to reset stage 2 as your base-map. While it should work as a realtime map, it won't save. Also know that when you check to see what map you're running through the AP it will always show your base map, regardless of what real time map you are running. So yeah, do the for real reflash on your ecu. The only concern with the catted up is that it may break apart and shred your turbo. That's a possibility whether you are tuned or not. Stage 2 is meant for just a turboback, so it's not a problem.
ahaha just to see which one is faster between the stage 1 or the stage 2 map. i was worried that that might have been the reason why i messed it up?
