would anybody be interested in buying a large installer sized roll of b-quiet ultimate(formerly brown bread) for the trunk well and backseat? i have a heat gun and the rollers come with the roll. I think 50 square foot would be enough for 3 people's spare tire wells. so..$40 a person with shipping. http://cgi.ebay.com/Ultimate-B-Quie...oryZ1498QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem we could do a mini install day when it's sunny. I'm really looking forware to getting rid of some exhaust drone. People with subwoofers would have alot to gain as well. who's in? interested: me(1/2) 1)nsvwrx(1/3) 2)calmnothing(1/3) 3)alex(1/2+) 4)crashtke(1/2) 5)knhtrdr(1/3)
I'll pass, don't really care for those douchebags putting 'Dynamat' in their auction title since it pisses me off when I try to search for the real thing.
It's the same thing, and their acoustic loss rating is just as high as dynamat extreme anyway and much cheaper(i saw 110 for 32 square feet with dynamat). it's just rubber
Is the tire well the best place? I heard the shelf behind the back seats and the front doors were the best.
Dynamat Xtreme is as good as or better than B-Quiet Ultimate up to 86F, then B-Quiet is better. However, I refuse to buy anything from a company that markets like these B-Quiet guys. Their entire strategy seems to be trying to slam Dynamat--they even sell Xtreme on their website with a ridiculous pricetag to make their own shit look better.
this is what i use raammat I got also the ensolite enough for two layers of all 4 doors and trunk (wagon hatch + spare tire area. Plan to use the ensolite on the roof and fill in the large empty volumes on doors.
the price they sell dynamat at isnt so ridiculous. http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Dyna...52124/catOid/-13100/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do multiply that by 2 and you get the Dynamat package that B-quiet sells on their site for the same price. Considering what Circuit City and Best Buy sell Dynamat for, and people buy it there, why is B-quiet so evil?
smells like.... sound deadening INSTALL DAY! I'd like to see a whole car done (and help too). I'm really interested in doing this and seeing the results. Alex, as the official guinea pig (right?) we can do your car first again.
tip: bring gloves and hard spatula (you dont need no stinkin roller) bring a bottle of alcohol (not for drinking) for cleaning prior to pasting. bring a lot of exacto knives bring some band aid for cuts
2 of the 4 interested in this so far are college kids, gotta have some for drinking   Craig
make that three, i go to tech too. we still have an untapped leftover keg from our last party that we cant get rid of, maybe a party #2 is in order with installs...
I might have to think about this a bit. I wouldn't mind quieting my loud piece of crap down some on the inside.
Hey Alex Does that mean you're chilling in trading or selling the Invidia N1 reonated? I might be interested in the sound deadening material. How heavy is the stuff? I was wondering if wheel wells and floorpan could be done without adding lots of weight.
.36 lb per square foot according to the site, i imagine it'd be ~15 square foot for the trunk well so like 5 pounds
How soon are you planning on doing the install day? My rex does not come in until Aug 5th, but one of the first thing I plan on is addin a sub and amp that I already have on hand...was planning on doing the trunk in something for future exhaust noise and subs. At $40 I am in regardless even if I have to wait a bit and do the install myself.
i'll add you to the list on the first post, just PM anyone on there and see if they want to split a roll with you.
Ramblin, dude, do you keep driving by my house? :wavey: For the right offer, I'll consider it. I'd be interested in a high flow, 3" resonator that's just the right sound level...which I am thinking the invidia isnt anymore.
I used raammat and ensulite at well. Front doors, both outside and inside skins and trunk bottom. Can't beat Rick for his customer service.
If it is just $120 a roll, I would be fine with halfing a roll with someone. The difference between $40 and $60....not so much!! That gives extra for some of the rest of the interior. So anyone interested?
Guys I have much experience in this department, and I can tell you that Raammat is what you guys want. Rick (@ raamaudio) will sell a 65sft roll for $99 plus shipping and no heat gun needed. Asphalt based deadeners will stink, and eventually peel up. I am sure you have all read Rick’s post over on NASIOC, and he is a great person to deal with.
ha, yea alex i live right by there, i was trying to figure out which house is yours. Is the exhaust a bit loud? ok, ayrton, so where can i get this 99 dollar price, i see 120 + shipping on raamaudio.com for a 50 ft roll? (nm, shipping included, not bad i guess, we could do a little comparo if ordering enough different stuff) crashtke, if you want to split a roll we can do that. nsvwrx, knhtrdr and whoever is interested, (alex or calmnothing maybe?) can split the next roll, just pm who's on the list. crash, just pm me when you want me to order it.
Just email Rick and tell him you are a forum member and he will give you the discount. Rick does this for most car audio forums and nabisco.
Well whatever stuff we do end up going with, there will be beer at MY install. I may no longer be a college kid, but I did spend 4 year at UGA. That kinda imparts a bit of the college kid in ya for life! I am not sure of the difference between all these brand names, the only stuff I have used is dynomat and paid way too much. But I had to do something on my 63 Nova SS as it sounded like a tin can every time the bass hit!
i'm gonna order mine when i get back on the 15th after i'm moved and split it 2 ways. I guess i'll do this raammat stuff if the discount is all good. Invite the guy over.
Got a recomendation to go to the Pendergrass flea market to look for this kind of stuff from a buddy. Gonna check it out this sunday. If anyone else wants to cruise up there and meet up I am game. We are planning on going Sunday sometime in the late morning/early afternoon. This place is like 250,000 square foot flea market and apparently has crazy deals on car stereo stuff...guess we will see!!
