Spec C takeoffs & Tanabe springs

  1. This would've been cool, but now will not happen as I just discovered that I was sent V7 WRX GF210 springs instead of the V8 springs I requested to match the V8 takeoffs. I didn't realize it until I had already stripped one strut down to swap the springs. The Tanabes are thinner and softer than the Spec C springs they were supposed to replace, and are not tapered. So I spent an hour or so cursing and spitting cuz my spring compressors are crap and won't compress the spring enough to put the tops back on. :grr:

So here I am, meditating, trying not to break stuff. Anyone want a set of Tanabe GF210 springs for 02-03 WRX? Maybe I can pay Doug and Porter to put my mess back together before I break something expensive.... :D

I'm sure someone may be interested, try listing it in the garage sale.

  5. Yeah, I'm thinking I'll get a second opinion on whether or not these are the correct springs from someone who knows more than I do.... that shouldn't be difficult. :) If they are indeed incorrect I'll either see if Gruppe-S will trade them out or post them for sale here.

  6. Disregard this, I took my mess of parts to TopSpeed and they were able to sort everything out. Apparently their spring compressor actually works, and doesn't need encouragement in the form of swearing and kicking tools around the garage. :D Seriously though, the guys up there did an excellent job, and got my suspension swapped in and STi GrpN motor mounts installed in less than 4 hours. Thanks!
