I went stage 2 a few months ago, even though I get on the gas more than I was, I seem to be getting better gas mileage. Is this normal for a stage 2 setup??? Only thing I can guess is the tune is letting the motor run more efficiently which means the power it creates is utilized more.
I've seen an increase in MPG since I got my stage 2 tune. On my last tank of gas I went 330 miles before my gas light came on.
Got better when I went stage 2, and even better when I got it protuned... Its hit or miss, if your car doesn't like the OTS map(every car is different) like Blasters then it may not help... I tried not to monitor gas mileage when I had the STI too much... Can't bitch about poor mileage too much when your foot is deep in the gas pedal like it should be
Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_6 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8E200 Safari/6533.18.5) My mpg in the gr is awful haha. 22 tops.
I'm not much better than you. Actually got just over 17 when I filled up last night, and I don't remember driving any crazier than normal…
highway cruising speed for me has always been in the 27-33 range...city mpg has steadily dropped after goin stage 1 then 2. i get around 20-22 mpg city. this is all on ots maps
he has a mpg diary to prove it too! with my vf30, im getting anywhere from 15-20. when i was stock i barely saw 23
I keep a log of my MPG with on a gmail spreadsheet, that way if it changes drastically I know somethings wrong. It dropped to lower 20s once and the battery died within a week. I usually average 27 city if I don't run it hard but I think it makes my Subi sad. I barely drive on the highway, Warner Robins is a giant suburbia. With more power and better MPG I don't know why Subaru doesn't make all WRXs' stage 2. Took me 5 years to go stage 2 but its like having a brand new car.
is it possible to set target AFR for closed loop? To intentially lean it out a bit for 'interstate cruising?
