sti springs question

    Not sure if this should go under newbie forum but what color are the stock sti springs becuase mine are pink? the original owner had hotchkis sways would he also have sti pink springs on there. Haven't been able to find pics of other sti's so i have no clue.

    Can't speak for 04's, my 06's are black. My guess is you have JDM pinks...

    04 stockers on the STi are black.
    If they are pink... then they are probably "pinks"

    Only question is.. are they USDM pinks or JDM?

    well thats pretty sweet then, i wonder what else is done to this car... the first time I changed the oil i found out i had hotchkis adjustable sway bars. Now i find out i have sti pinks! Both which is what i planned on getting anyway. Are there any visual differences between jdm and usdm pink springs?

    JDM pinks should have a green marking (like a dot) on them somewhere if it hasn't worn off.

    USDM pinks don't drop as much either as far as I know..

    Interesting. I'd change all of the fluids out to something you know will work just in case they put some junk in there. That and go over every nut and bolt on the motor to see if the car used to have a big turbo that was swapped back to stock for trade in. Go over this car with a fine toothed comb almost every used WRX/STI I see has something done to it from a previous owner modding.

    I already changed out all of the fluids when i got it a few months ago. (except differential and power steering.) so I don't have to worry about that. Everything else in the engine bay seemed untouched. the turbo heathshield was uncut, stock exhaust hangers and what looks to be the original bolts on the exhaust nothign new and shiny looking anyway. so im assuming he never had a turbo back which would probably mean he never had a bigger turbo or anything.
