Going to Commerce Friday, first time in the STI and I need some advice...

    1) I've launched my old bugeye several times at the track, Is the launch the same... basically 5500 rpms.. quick release..??
    2) Leave rear diff on AUTO??? I've heard some people using the lock setting and some with it set to rear biased(bottom arrow)...
    3) Shift points... I realize this prolly comes down to personal prefferance but.. I would think shift at 6500 rpm's. But in the few 'spirited' jaunts to 100mph I've had so far, shifts at near redline put you back at 5500 or so in the next gear. I would think you'd want a little more out of the power band so my thinking is that 6200 would be better.
    4) Intercooler spray.. When??
    5) Race gas.. would it be worth it to throw a couple gallons in when I get there on a stock STI??? Would I really see a difference in my times with no EM?
    Concerns:
The stupid tach being in the center!!! I drive with my left hand at 12 o'clock, covering up the tach completely. Only thing I could think to do is hold it at 10 or simply lifting my wrist up so I can see.. what do you guys do???

    pEd This ain't no Piccadilly!

    1) yes, around 5500 or so. Fluttering the throttle (trying to leave on + boost)
    2) Try it first with it at Auto. Next run, try full Rear. Everyone drives different,
so try it yourself and see what works best for you.
3)6200 is about where I shift (I'm no pro though).. Either way shift where
it puts you right back in the power band.
    4) If you can, spray the whole time (the track may not like you leaving water though)
5)May be worth a couple of gallons, if for no other reason than to keep detonation at a minimum

    6) hold the steering wheel with your left hand placed right at the 10 o'clock position

    Good luck!!

i'd expect too much race gas could be detrimental to performance if your car isnt tuned for it... someone please verify this

also, make sure u have stopped spraying the IC before you reach the tree... if there's any water dripping under your car, u will be kicked off

    i shift around 6300
