i just replace my clutch on my WRX, had to take the tranny, drive shaft, etc. off... so i pretty much know everything about it...

but i'm sure what you would need to put in a STi tranny on a WRX...

are you doing the STi drivetrain convertion???

    did you check on scoobymods.com?

STI tranny swap will require at the minimum the new 6speed, 4EAT or shortened stock driveshaft, 3.9 rear end (you can get them out of older Legacy Turbos or swap out your ring and pinion, or upgrade to an R180 STI diff), probably new axles, new tranny crossmember, I dont know if the STIs have the same master and slave cylinders but that might be something to upgrade, clutch lines too.

Doing the R180 swap in the rear requires a lot more work than just swapping in a 3.9 R160. You have to swap out a lot of the rear suspension components.

That sounds about right for labor costs. I pretty much did the same swap, at least laborwise, but went with an older 5speed STI tranny.

It's really not a hard swap if you get all the right pieces, the rearend is the big pain with the swap. The DCCD wiring is a PITA also but you can get JDM 6speeds without it (and with various front LSD options). Some of the first 6speeds worked with WRX front axles (rears will depend on your rear end) but some of the new ones use a completely new axle.
