I am in the process of putting some stuff back to stock for this week ends mods. One thing is the stock boost solenoid and hoses. I've had the TXS controller so long I lost the stock hoses and restrictor. Today I put in a line from the solenoid to a .040" restictor, then a "T" that goes to the turbo outlet and the wastegate. The car feels like it has the same power as other stockers (there are a few I see at work regularly) but it only hits about 9 psi. I do have an STi top mount, could that be the cause of the loss, or are my hoses and restrictor plumbed incorrectly? It's been a long time since I took them off.
Well stock I'm pretty sure they only hit 9-10 psi in 1st and 2nd. But I think it's more like 12-14 in the other gears.
turbo outlet - restrictor - "T" T (straight leg) to WG actuator T (branch leg) to Boost solenoid -- Intake hose for turbo (this hose is larger)
welcome what you did was restrict the bleed line to the BCS therefore all(almost all) your flow is to the WG actuator opening the WG - hence WG boost
I wasn't thinking of how it works, just how I remembered it being. Memory is the first thing to go when you get old I guess.
