Again a cheap but effective way to improve your stock seats. (remember im always cheap)
I have the std seat with heat. I am only 135# and the side bolster somehow is not narrow enough to give me a hug everytime i drive.

I got some pipe insulation from home depo and cut them to about 14" long (2 pieces reqd). I unzipped the seat and inserted the two tubes from the front and increase the bolstering ability of the stock seat. While i was there I also inserted a small "camelbak" bladder for my back arch support and currently i pumped it up a little and eventually will find a bulb pump (like the one the doctor uses for checking your blood pressure) to inflate and deflate the back arch bladder.

The seat loves me now and hugs me everytime i get in the car.

    Will post pictures later

    Cost :
$3.09 /6ft insulation ( you only need about 28" inches) use the rest to wrap your AC line near your IC)
$??? /ea camelbak bladder ( ive got 3 and this seems to hold the least amount of fluid and been dry for years) Or you can use foam but i plan to pump or deflate it thats why i used a bladder.
    Time:
15 minutes and no tools required (except for cutting the foam tube)

Nice. We did a similar mod at the install day with 2 stock STi seats. We cut up some aftermarket foam to hot glue onto the stock seat. The seats look a little puffy afterwards, but seem to work great. Do you have any pictures you can post of your install?

the side bolsters dont show up clear because of the dark fabric and the crease at the bottom goes away when you tuck the plastic lip back to original position at the back of the seat. Im goin to goodwill to look for the bulb pump sometime this week. for now blow and corkit

I did not hot glue anything
all i did was remove the two sticky backing to join the lip of the rubber tube and put it in place. I can remove it, if I ever want to change.

I use rubber instead of the foam because it has more body and i believe foam will get squashed and wont return to its shape.

    Looking good.
Similar to what we did at Install Day.
We'll have to make sure to exchange seat "sittings" at the next g2g.
Maybe the pipe insulation is the way to go. I thought we'd have better
    results with the foam though.

I think you may have more padding but all i need was something like a wedge between me and the existing side bolster for side-2-side restriction.

The ultimate would be to buy a sheet of those memory foam and place it where you need it and im sure that will be super comfy.

    hehehe...
Yeah I was thinking about some memory foam too.
Too bad it's soo expensive (or at least the stuff I found).

Well, its been half a week and zero problems with the seat. Its awesome. It all got even better tonight when Scott and I finally finished the coilovers and alignment (was a bitch and a half to get the numbers we wanted).

A+ mod for everyone to do.

    not that bad

If you can find a group
then by a sheet for fullsize or larger for the bed and devide it up.

I hear that. I'm trying to score as many free/cheap mods as I can right now. Trading my painted WRX side skirts for some STi skirts tonight.
