I just put a box with 2 12's in my trunk and i need to find a way to strap it in good because its sliding around everywhere right now :). Any ideas what to use and where to strap it to?

straps would be nice. I once used some " L " brackets from Home Depot and just screwed it down.

L brackets would work just fine, except mounting anything to the wood underneath the subs wouldnt work. You will have to mount it to the metal in the trunk for it to be effective.

I would like to mount it so that it is easily removable so i can take it out for trips or if i want to go to the track... Maybe i coudl mount some brackets on the metal in the trunk, and create a latch to hook onto it? or something similar... any other ideas along these lines? Maybe just some latches mounted to the metal and hook a strap around the bottom of the box?

    In a word.... velcro.

You buy glue on or self adhesive velcro strips that you just line up and viola. Good to go.....

Or at least it seems like a good idea in writing. I'm not actually sure it would be something you'd want on your set up or if it would be easy to get the box out. But I have seen velcro hold some pretty amazing things.

industrial strength velcro is where it's at, just make sure your carpet is secured and doesn't shift around.

I have velcro on my 10" and let me tell you, it will not hold. Now that I think about it, your best bet is take some wood, attach it to the backseat supports via some sort of nut. This will allow you to disconnect the boxes in about 5 minutes. This way you have a nice wall for them to rest against, they wont slide since they're attached to teh back seat either.

Are you sure you've used enough? I mean I've seen velcro hold a person to wall! Of course it could be defective velcro.

throw some eye bolts into the metal and then use bungie hooks to strap it down if you don't care how it looks. you can take those off in 10 sec.

ooo, bungies! that's as sweet as duck tape.
that is a good idea, though. i was going to find a place to wrap a wire just around the top of the sub box and the deck lid. i have a 15" sub plus box so it jjjuuuussssst clears the rear deck. it won't tip over, but it does clunk are under hard driving.

Circuit City put in those L-brackets for me twice on the wood and they have come off both times. I need a good solution too. I think I might have a giant wheel of velcro somewhere that I might try.

I've been using this setup for two years. Workes great for auto-x or track days....
