Sway Bar Mounts

In addition to sway bar end links, firms are selling sway bar mount kits. I assume that these replace the points on the frame where the sway bar passes through the bushings.

    Are they really worth getting?

Are these things available for front and rear, or just rear?

I'm on the verge of writing an "idiot's suspension diary" post. This stuff is probably obvious to the mechanically-inclined, but I'm a software guy.

you should get upgraded(heavy duty) mounts, mine was included with the bar. the heavy duty mounts are only available for the rear, as the front just needs a new bracket to fit the bigger bar(right milo)
04's came with upgraded mounts from the factory, the years before have anemic ones.

It's much cheaper to buy a bar that includes the mounts. The mount kits themselves are expensive.

think of your car suspension as a chain
when you beef up one part then the next weakest link will suffer and will be stressed more. if you upgraded your sways then it needs bushings that fit and then you need the mounts to support the additional loads. OH BTW, and your endlinks too

In order for you to stress the mounts you have to drive like a normal person and not like a grandma (me).

You're right about that. It looks like the Whileline bars don't include either mounts or end links. Can you suggest a package that does?

Perrin includes both. The upgraded mounts are nice, but not absolutely necessary. The only action that happens between those mounts on the bushings is torsion of the bar, there is no push or pull really. So the bar in the location as far as directional movement is pretty neutral. The real aid to the swaybar is the endlinks. The rubber ones crush and have a dulled response.

I'm afraid that I did something out of the plan. I left feedback without buying anything. I hope that isn't a goof. I liked mil0's response. Sweet and to the point.

Even though yours have never broke (neither have mine) I am still paranoid about things breaking. Besides if it comes with your swaybar for no extra cost why not hehe
