Ok so i read the sway/strut bar thread as well as the link to what porter was saying about set up of sway bars and so on. Anyway i have perrin front and rear sway bars and the front has 2 adjustments and the rear has 3. So i understand everything porter was saying about having the front set higher than the rear and the rear set a little lower. But i dunno what holes to set the bars at to accomplish this. As of right now i have them both on the stiffest setting. Should i turn the rear bar down a hole or two??? please help! oh and the only other suspension mod i have is B+G lowering springs.
What are your options? I have Whiteline Front and Rear bars. I have the front set to 27 and the rear to 26. I like the way my car feels.
see thats the problem, i dont really know what each hole corresponds to as far as millimeters go. on the installation instructions it just basically said "put it here for the stiffest setting and here for the softest" im gonna check the perrin site real quick.
all the perrin site says is that they are both 22mm bars, it doesnt say much about the adjustment holes
mine's set at 26-26 and it feels great... then again, i have the flex coil overs with some real stiff springs
Is the Perrin an 20-22-24 bar or a 22-24-26 bar? If you dont know I would stick it on the softer side so that you dont have any crazy oversteer. Get comfortable with it at the lowest setting then move it up a notch.
all the perrin site says is front 22mm bar and rear also 22mm. It doesnt say anything at all about the adjustment holes. i dunno???
Perrin Sway bars are rebranded Progress bars, Progress manufactures the Perrin stuff under license. The Perrin bars are all 22mm "real" diameter, the rear bar is 20-22-24, I am not sure on the front bar. I assume 22-24 but that may not be the case. The only way to know would be to put it on a spring dyno. I would set the front at full stiff if you get the Perrin, and the rear in the middle, then adjust the rear up or down to suit your driving preferences.
I know my car handles a bit different, but I have a Whiteline 22-24 front bar and a Progress 22-24-26, both set to 24mm. The car handles very nice with a bit of oversteer when I need it (lift-throttle), but all I have to do is put the go pedal down and it straightens up and pulls me through a curve. Btw, your front bar is 20-22mm and the rear should be the same as mine (22-24-26). Mick
