Tune isn't finished and they are planning 28-30 psi and then 'may' use nitrous. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?p=20733598#post20733598
yeah i know its built to hell and back, but i lost all respect for the EJ205 when mine blew. even though i don't own the car anymore. i'm just a 2.5l whore, haha we'll see. definitely a cool build tho
cylinder walls are not up to the task...I want to see that dyno chart IB boost comes on at 6K with a 8K redline. LOL
Cyl walls are thicker on the 2.0 than any other SUBARU block. After looking at the build list, I'm not surprised to see that it made over 450. It is race gas after all. Plus I remember a 540whp 2.0 somewhere. The primary thing is oiling when going past 7000.
what? have you seen many warped cylinders? :squint: edit: hah! that's fred from virginia beach. I used to hang out with him when I lived there.
He reinforced the cylinder walls with dowels, in effect making a semi-closed block. I think the 540whp car was a 207 with a GT35R, there are a handful of them on nasioc. Good to see somebody making good numbers with a 2.0.
There are 2 550+ AWHP EJ205's in Puerto Rico. There is a 584 AWHP EJ205 in Florida. It's been done but not that often. Lost respect for the 2.0L eh? What about all the JDM motors? Hell what about me and Matt who both have broken 11 sec timeslips and the car still ran like champ? The EJ205 is a stout engine if you take care of it and have it 'tuned' like it should be tuned.
