My car, despite its capabilities, is my cruiser 95% of the time, and i'm nearing 1/4 million miles.

I'm rolling on stock 16", and always looking for a better deal.

Is there anything to be concerned about if I run a taller tire?

    like a 215-55, or a 225-50?

Your speedometer will be off a little.

(Yes I know you're aware of that.)

Wait, what size are you running now? The sizes you listed as possibilities look pretty fat.
It came with 205-55 16s right? What you're looking at will be lower and fatter, or at least fatter since sizes are ratios to width. Either way, if you're wanting cruising fuel economy you'll want to go narrower and/or lower rolling resistance compound.

205 is the oem, and the narrowest tread most places give that will work.

but the reason i was looking at taller was to soak up more of the road.

    a 215-55 should be 5mm taller than a 205-55, right?

Yes, but like I said it's a calculation:

There are good calculators out there, this isn't one of them but it works and I'm kinda busy so it's the link I'll send:

  7. Believe it or not tire sizes will also vary at times by brand.
