Does anyone know anything about Tanabe SEVEN coilovers? Specifically, are they height adjustable. It's hard to imagine any coil over not being height adjustable, but I can't find any specs... Also, what do you know about the TEAS (similar to the Tein EDFC).... It looks like a good system except if there's not height adjustment.

it is height adjustable its got a threaded perch

anyways, thats part of suspension dialing and it would be hard to imagine a thread coliover kit not being height adjustable

Thanks! Do you know what the height adjustable range is? Also, what do you mean by "threaded perch?"

see what the actual springs are sitting on? thats called the perch

and that perch is mounted to a threaded sleeve (the silver portion under/below the perch) . you adjust the ride height by turning that threaded perch up or down.

thats where you get the height adjustability

good to know. Can you adjust them while they're on the car or do wheels needs to be pulled to adjust height? Or does that change by coilover model?

You gotta pull your wheels off. Once you pull them off you unlock the mechanism and rotate either direction to raise/lower the height.

    edit: just kidding

So are there any coilovers that you can adjust the height without pulling the wheel? Or while in the car, like edfc?

    not that I know of...

I mean once you have the initial height set you really wont mess with it, i dont think

That's a pretty big typo all over that ad... "Change Dampening Settings..." Ummm... So you can change how wet you want your suspension???

they only in car ride height adjustment is available only with the praxis air suspension. they have it at tire rack if you are interested.

    This too:

More importantly when you have the ability to adjust spring preload on each corner you should balance the weight distribution between R/L sides. Get the height you want then find some corner scales.

it isnt a typo... dampening can allow you to change the setup anywhere between severely underdamped, critically damped and severely overdamped (springs allowing obviously)... basically determines how stiff the ride gets by dampening the spring oscillations

only with praxis can height be adjusted. neither teas nor edfc has the ability to adjust height from within the car

    FTZ ^.^

If you are interested in the Praxis, one of the guys here has them. He doesn't post much, but he is at every Auto X. His name is Chris, drives a Blue WRX, always wears a Trenchcoat. Really nice guy. If you want to check out his suspension set up, let me know and I will get in touch with him.

Yeah I remember seeing him at an auto-x a while ago. He was working the sign-in. I am a little interested, but definitely don't have the money for it so don't worry about it.

how much does it cost? and wouldnt it weigh more cause of the air bsetup?

You could always just solve your problem and buy my JICs :D

    Holy crap.....that is fucking expensive.......

As it is now it only takes me 5 min to adjust all 5 dampers....and there's rarely an occasion i'd jack up the springrates that high....i'm already riding around like ~450lbs and ~360lbs front and back.

Ive been for a few rides in his car and the air bags are fun :D

I bet they're awesome but they're too expensive for me...

It's like you got me, but you didn't at the same time. Notice what I was pointing out.

    Dampen=to make wet
Dampening=the act of making something wetter
Damp=to reduce the amplitude of oscillations of an oscillatory system
Damping=the act of reducing the amplitude of oscillations of an oscillatory system

    EDIT: I'm a nerd.

I wonder if wikipedia is a legal source.....hmmm i'm gonna starting citing wikipedia in my papers for school

I believe that wikipedia is kind of known for misinformation. I mean the majority of the stuff is correct, but isn't it just stuff that people submit?

All hail the almighty thread jack!

i watched some people get burned on a presentation because they cited Wikipedia... I don't recommend it for anything but trying to understand the fundamentals of what you're writing about. I've never had a single teacher allow it as a source, although I've seen lots of people try to use it.

i use wikipedia a lot for my research... and they even give citations for sources... i agree that not everything is legit but if ur looking for real theoretical and technical stuff, thats usually been pretty good in my experience
