for an 02, whats the ride quality difference between the S and H. also, I will be running 18x8 w/ 235/40/18's, will they rub on either
The s-techs may rub, it will be close. I know that a 245 tire will almost definitely rub with them. I don't think you'd have a problem with the h-techs, but then you may not have one with the s-techs either.
The main difference between the S.Tech and the H.Tech is the drop and the spring rate. --- Here are the spring rates on both. 02-03 WRX: S.Tech - F: 218/R: 157 02-03 WRX: H.Tech - F: 196/R: 140 Also thanks DeweyWRX for answering the question on rubbing issue.
I have an 06 WRX...I was told just replacing the stock springs will blow the shocks pretty early. Any feedback on that?
that's why it's called a blowout sale. :wiggle: I actually kinda want to know this too, at least about the H-techs.
haha nice....yea I would just like to know cause i might wanna save up on the aftermarket shocks if the stockers are just gonna go after like 30k miles
Dropping the car much over 1" will definately shorten the struts life. The spring rates on the Teins are not high enough to kill them fast. The big drop though is a different story.
04-06+ WRX: S.Tech - $170 shipped Sedan - F: 2.4"/R: 1.3" Wagon - F: 1.6"/R: 1.5" Is this considered the big drop that could cause probs faster??? or would it be lower with the coilovers? If this is considered the big drop then I will prolly order the other one with the smaller drop.
I consider it a big drop. I doubt you will have any real problems. Strut life will be shortened when you increase spring rate or lower the car no matter what.
Ill take some H-techs at the end of the month for sure fer the 06 WRX....Sakari arent you out in Kennesaw?? If this is the same then you know scott with the 350z...I was the guy always picking up the ATL Envision stuff
Sedan - F: 2.0"/R: .7" Ilike the front drop but not so much the rear that not a lot of drop.Or is it 2.7"
looking at the 06 not sure if your generation is the same though...the front sits a lot higher than rear. Those measurements should even it out.
