had the teins installed at topspeed yesterday and here are my initial thoughts... feel free to lend me some hints/suggestions. specs and other mods follow: first off, i used to drive a 93 miata, with some minor handling/power mods. so, my biggest gripe about the wrx was the handling/feel. the attitude of the car is dramatically better, the car feels much more solid and i can feel more of the car through the seat and the controls. compared to stock, the pitch and yaw are pretty much eliminated. acceleration and breaking are inheirently smoother and quicker. turns: much less attention is put into keeping the car's composure balanced and more focus can be put into the turn. feels like i'm cheating bumps, potholes, etc.: they're adjustable, so if i don't like it, it's my own damned fault for not changing them. specs: the ride hieght has been lowered significantly about .5" from outter lip of well, not sure if i'll keep it there, i love the low center of gravity, but this height limits how soft i can set the dampning. no rubs so far though, and i gave it a little work-out last night. the stiffness is set to 16 (from soft) front and back. these will need toying with to get it perfect. now, the manual says that they are 16-way adj. however you can easily click it 27 times from softest. which makes it something of a mystery to me of how to guage things. i was expecting something a little more "exacting". EDFC will go on in december/january, so it's sort of a moot point supporting mods: whiteline adj antiroll bars(24f, 26r if i remember). heavy rear links (going on this week) prodrive pff-7 18x8 wheels with yoko avs whiteline steering rack bushes
from what ive heard, though u can physically set it to any level you want, u shouldnt go lower than 16 from full stiff... it should say that in the manual
you mean 16-clicks down from full stiff? oh, btw, i figured out how to get to the rear damp knobs... here it is in case anyone else is trying to get to them. the rear seat pulls forward from the rear deck (flat area behind the headrest) just enough to fit your hand in there (unless you have massive hands). pull the seat forward and slide your hand in-between the back of the seat and the rear deck at almost the furthest corner of the seat. about 6 inches down and toward the outter body of the car. feel around, your fingers will hit the knob. tune away. it helps if you look at the assembly from the outside of the car and follow it up to give you a visual idea of where the top mount is. hope this helps someone.
