we did some pre-road tuning today with the pro-tune software. there were a few snags with connections but even after a very short amount of time actually data-logging and changing some tables, the car already feels MUCH smoother and power delivery is nice and progressive. whenever you want to finish it, lemme know. lunch is on me. hopefully we don't run into dinner, but if we do its on me
its not a complete pro-tune, but it will be soon...hopefully. the protuner software has some cool advantages!
At what point in the process of modding is it worth it to get protuned? I mean, my only real power mod is an accessport. Should I wait for exhaust...or even after that?
You can see a difference without any mods, however, it is much more noticable after you have a full exhaust.
glad someone is doing this with SS....my next mod is AP.....it's great to have another respected tuner involved.....Both Doug and Scott are amazing tuners and to have the option on both now for ProTuning is great....so if either tuner is busy (because they are both extremely desirable) you might have an option?......
like when you make any plot changes, it updates it in realtime. you can actually feel the rpm's drop aittle when the new info is loading. there's no waiting. as scott would say..."thats sexy" but it does have it quirks too
It is sexy It's nice to be able to "insta-tune" in realtime... AP is a touch "finickier" but apparently if I un-install and reinstall all the latest serial to usb drivers, then reinstall it might become 100% stable. On a side note, if anybody out there has a laptop, or knows of a laptop for sale with a SERIAL port (not a parallel port or a monitor port, but a real, old-fashioned serial port) and 2 or preferably 3 USB ports, that runs XP, I would be VERY interested in it. I know we have a number of technology gifted (read geeky) people here, I think I'll ask in another thread... On a side note, I would also like to once again thank Doug/Topspeed, it's great to have another tuner/shop to bounce ideas off and I enjoy our positive relationship a LOT. Thanks again guys, SS
I'd also like to say Thanks Scott for the extra time you put into my ride in trying to figure out what Ecutek can't or hasn't figured out yet in the way of the 06's timing issues. The car pulls better after yesterday and I can't wait to see what it's like once we're out of uncharted waters. Jason.
