    BelvnAWD I'm Vin, Bell-Vin...

Well, last night was the unveiling party for the 06 STi. This is the second "community" type event I have been to at SoG and I have to say, I have been very impressed both times. I, like others, have had issues with certain aspects of SoG from time to time. I bought my car there and felt I got a fair deal, if not the best possible, and I have had some service performed there, and found the service department to be professional, but I wasn't necessarily blown away by them. All that said their community support is outstanding. Last night they raffled away several hundred dollars worth of parts and services, had Chipolte cater the event and then stayed open after hours so a few of us could finish BS'ing. As always, the turnout, compared to the number of Subarus in the area was light. But the 20 or so people that showed up had a great time, and we all walked out with some type of gift in our hands. Lisa in the parts department hung around and made some extra money for the dealership by staying open a little late and Scott Siegel probably added 2 or 3 tuning customers to his future list. All in all a well done event by a dealership, that at least in this area, supports the Subaru "community" like none other. Thanks SoG, Scott, Lisa and everyone else there who made this happen!

I posted this on NASIOC as well.....

So, for all those who have now gotten to see the 06 in person, what did you think? If you were skeptical of the new looks before from the pics online, did your opinion change seeing the car up close and personal?

im still up in the air..the front just does not look aggressive anymore..the new design makes the front end look very narrow..i definately do not like the altezza style tail lights..the rear wind defuser/spoiler on the window looks good..would look better in CF though..all in all its ok..i still like the 02-05 styles better

I decided to go back over to SoG at lunch today and get the closer look I missed Friday. After getting up close and actually sitting in it I have changed my mind. I think it’s a design that grows on you. I don’t think I’m going to rush to buy one. But it’s nicer up close than I previously thought. I took Beau with me to see what a BMW guy thought and he really liked it. Especially the spec’s and the price.

The '06 looks more aerodynamic. I'd like to hear the new stats for Cd and downforce.

FYI, The rear diffuser is supposed to fit 04-05's.
