So Cobb just released the latest version of the AP stuff. The V2's offer all the normal map switching coolness, the code-reader, the 0-60 and 1/4 mile, all the Live-Data (very nice for watching your Dynamic Advance) and NOW they have Instant and Average MPG!!!

I really think that's awesome with gas prices at $3.20/gallon.

The really cool performance stuff includes going from 99 adjustable tables to a whopping 153 tables. We've got EVERYTHING. From all the normal stuff to all the idle stuff to INDIVIDUAL CYLINDER fuel AND timing trims... We can calibrate almost every sensor and adjust pretty much everything about timing control.

This control, combined with the expertise from Cobb directly and on the Cobb Protuners forums makes this almost unbeatable.

For the record, the 07 STi ECU issues have been TOTALLY solved and we have full control over them now.

I just wanted to give a big shout-out to Cobb and thank them for continued development of such a great product.

For those that want to update:

    1) YOU MUST CONTACT YOUR TUNER AND HAVE THEM UPDATE YOUR MAPS.
    2) Then you must download and install the newest Accessport Manager Software from Cobb's site.
    3) Connect your AP and use the AP Manager Software to Update your AP Firmware
    4) Then load your new maps (from your tuner) onto the AP
    5) Drop the new map as a reflash and enjoy.

    Thanks guys,
    Siegel

Scott are you talking about V 1.2.4.0? I downloaded and upgraded everything on the computer side. When I was done, it tried to rebuild my library and said it didn't recognize the maps I had. Including the ones you made. I was afraid to try and upgrade my AP. Do you think it is alright to do so or should I wait until the 4th when you re-tune the car?

If you update your AP it will require the converted maps... send me an e-mail and I'll reply with the converted maps.

how much more performance does v2 offer vs. v1?

Not sure if'ts worth the upgrade

The actual running of the car is near identical, it's the interface and extras on the port that are so much cooler. The Launch Control and Flat-Foot-Shifting are the biggest performance advantages of the V2 over the V1.

The ability to have everything in a reflash/base map is really nice though...

^^^ give me a little credit ;) Already done, and you have mail. If you can feel anything with this map, I'll be shocked. I made it so there is 1 smooth degree between idle timing and lift-throttle timing, instead of the old 10 degree jump :D

I have to agree.. the new per cylinder trims are very nice to be able to adjust now. Especially when pushing a car near its limits.

Yes, in order to uninstall you need to have the test mode connectors together. You must have one of the earliest AP's, there were a few that need to be uninstalled to update.

Like Scott said Ecutek does not have all these new tables that cobb does. This may be one of the reasons the Cobb AP fixed Halls LGT that had the timing issues while running the ecutek.

They ever put out the Launch Ctrl and Flat-Foot-Shifting for the bugeye's or drive by cable cars?

You never gave me a real reason, just "The siegel says so" :p

Anyone in the market for an 05 LGT ECU w/ecutek?

  39. siegelracing

    siegelracing Registered Vendor<br><b><font color="#666666">bion

:hsnono:We both told you what we knew - that it had worked on another LGT and that it was the "under-lying tables" which we believed Cobb had gotten right and Ecutek hadn't... ;)

We couldn't do better than that because we hadn't seen it... don't worry, if you buy your V2 from us you get a half hour of tuning :D

wow = INDIVIDUAL CYLINDER fuel AND timing trims
where can i read more about it ?

How do you trim individual cylinders ? Do you need an EGT or WBO2 on each cylinder ?

  41. WJM

    Very carefully.

  42. siegelracing

    siegelracing Registered Vendor<br><b><font color="#666666">bion

LOL. Ideally you'd have individual cylinder EGT's and or o2's. However you can carefully play with the balance on the dyno and see what happens... when you go in the right direction it makes more power ;)

I don't believe you explained it as the underlying tables, at least in your email to me, but knowing now makes more sense. Why would it work for 1.5 years and then crap out? Having invested well over 1000$ in ecutek and delta dash, is there any way I can recoup some of my investment? I'm trying to go the 20g/18g route in short order so i'll wait to do anything until then. Don't suppose you have demo AP2s eh scott? :p

A new stock ECU is around $600. Then you have to have a dealer program it to the car.

You could try posting the package for sale for $800+stock ECU or sell it for $1400 outright.

Personally, I dont think either will ever sell....you may just have to contact EcuTek and make them come up with more tables that are end user tunable.

Or, just get an AP2 and flash over the EcuTek. :/

How fast can one get an ECU for a legacy? Topspeed - is this something y'all can do if i find a buyer for my old one?

lol real descriptive man. For a 600$plus question it seemed a bit sparse with details :)

Posting up on lgt.com and nasioc and we'll see where it goes. Thanks for letting me thread jack. We need a wrxatl IRC channel or something
