If you have never ridden one, they are really fun. I am waiting until the guys from Jackass start playing with one on a halfpipe. It has got to happen soon.
segway contact me when I worked for a tire mfg. that is serrious. They wanted to use one of our tire models. Looks like they went with someone else ;-/
Segways are outta control! :eek4: ................. JK. I went to thier site once to see what they had. They've definitely prospered, although they (segways) didn't really explode onto the scene like the designer said they would. Click here: http://www.segway.com/products/
Thats because they are really expensive and really serve little purpose for most people. I think warehouses would be a good potential customer for Segways. Also, at least in Harrisburg, Airport Security uses them to get around the airport.
Yeah. And they probably won't go down much in price. There are knock-offs and used units out there but... bleh. I saw how they make a "police" unit and read a little about it. Apparently the Segway can't hold itself up when it's off, because the police model is decribed as having a quick stand and auto shut off.
We did a shoot for Southern Cross, who's a gas company, and uses it for their technicians to ride, instead of stopping and going in a truck. Apparently they're productivity has drastically increased, plus the techs can now easily scoot from dogs.
Lol. I wonder if they're newfound productivity could have something to do with the fact that now they can't sit down and have a snack or whatever in the truck with some privacy.
It's a $5000 scooter. The only reason they are used instead of actual scooters is that you can stand up straight and not look like a lazy bastage while riding.
