i wasn't quite sure what section this should go in. now, we all live in the South. i was raised in the South and i like it. but it seems that the STi wing and the South do not get along. i've had my STi for a little over a year. it seems that i am fairly constantly getting treated like crap on the road when i've done nothing wrong. i can only attribute this to the looks of the car. more specifically, i'm sure, the giant wing. i'd guess 80% of the time it is a redneck in a pickup truck. this is getting so tiresome i'm thinking about going wingless even though i prefer the way the car looks with the wing. tell me i'm not the only one around here that gets this kind of crap. examples from only the past week and a half: example 1: i'm driving down a 2 lane road going roughly the average speed that people go on that road. this being Atlanta, of course it is speeding but still. from a parking lot on the right a woman makes a left turn in front of me, forcing me to brake. when i go by her, she flicks me off. wtf? example 2: i was coming up to a red light, off the gas in 3rd and slowing down. guy whips over from the right lane right on my tail. then he flicks me off. why? i have no freaking clue. he proceeds to tailgate me for the next 5 miles or so until he whips back into the right lane and gets stuck behind more cars. i get behind him, then go into the new lane opening on the right. he honks at me, gets back on my tail, goes to the turn lane and starts yelling and flicking me off. at the light when he was still yelling at me i asked him what his problem was and he told me that i live in my mother's basement. :roflwtf: :fawk: :asshole:
they are called haters....they all suck. I get it with my wing that's half your wing's size. let it go and don't let them bother you. Yes, you're in the south, but Atlanta is soooooo diverse, it shouldn't matter. What part of Atlanta are you in? I say find em, fuck em and flee!! :rofl: :rofl:
Don't sweat it man, people all over the world wake up every morning pissed at the world. They are misrable human beings and you have nothing to do with it. Just laugh at them as you drive past them....they love that.

Well buford will love me, I gotta head up there to rent a teleprompter for a video shoot. I'll try and be nice and....LOUD! But yes people see our cars and see big exhausts or a big wing and assume we're some ricer kids up to no good. Frankly I don't care. There not much you can do about it. We can try and drive slower and things like that, but I prefer to keep having fun and ignore the people. Alot of people like our cars, on the mountain run yesterday. Everyone was pointing and looking and what seemed to be nice comments about us. I also had some guys in a tacoma stop and ask about wrx's and how much they were and power and stuff. So who knows. And I take offense to what that guy said...I do live in my moms basement

well i was at my parents house in buford over the weekend. i had this random truck on I-85 come up on my tailgating me for no damn reason, then he tried to litereally run me off the interstate! i was so pissed i rolled the window down and flipped him off, and proceeded to exit hoping he'd follow to "see" what was his problem. he kept on the interstate...fawker.
Hmm.. Maybe someone should fabricate a clear acrylic STi wing with neon tubes and Christmas lights in it!! :rofl: That would be some serious rice.
ACK!! It looks like the COT is running a JC Whitney wing. Didn't they ever see a nice looking (Cusco GT!) wing? BTW, don't blame the wing, blame the haters. And if someone was trying to run me off the road I would hold my phone up like I was filming them. And there's always the "Smith & Wesson" bumper sticker, FTW!
its not the wing, people are just assholes. i dont have a sti, but i do constantly have people asking about my car and i hear them saying stuff like " yea thats one of those rally cars, turbo awd blah blah blah". most people have respect for our cars, but you always get the assholes too. i would chase the person down who tried to run me off the road though, no one threatens my life...
don't sweat it dude, there are two kinds of people in the world. assholes, and non. i live in buford and i don't get a lot of shit from people to be honest. sideways looks for sure, but no drama.
Yeah I'm from the suburbs of Augusta (lots of kids in big trucks and SUVs) and I've gotten looks before and one or two thumbs down (which I always laugh at), but never any drama or anything like that. I guess you're just happening to run into a few people on a bad day. But like everyone else said, don't sweat it.
however the pigs do look at our cars. regardless of the wing. ive been watched and harassed all the time by them, but never any help from them. never.
yea man to many haters every time when i had the rsx from stop lights it would be a issue eighter some one talking smak or revvin like if it would never end it happens tho
I had some problems but I own a wrx. So no big wing for me Example #1: Driving 85s to go to the varsity around the PLeasent hill exit, I was in the hov lane then get in my right lane. as I do some hick in a damn dodge does the same but turning left. I have to slam my brakes and I honk. The Dumb f*** has the guts to hit the brakes. Like I was riding his ass or something. blah blah blah what I do next. As I go to pass him, He throws a Bud light can at my car. it was full. God, was looking out for him since that did not hit my car. Haters, Dude, I drive around MOG all the time never had a problem around there.
I found when I put the Confederate flags on the sides of my wing it pretty much stopped the beer cans.
