You guys won't believe this! 11.98 @ 119 mph! Scott you are the man! Soon as I get a hold of a scanner I will be posting up the slip. This has got to be a record. 60' was an unbelievable 1.69. That 6 puck clutch grabbed and held it's own. Needless to say the tranny didn't like it much but I told myself if it breaks it breaks so be it. 6000 rpm clutch drop and praying it holds.....lol I am officially done with the car. The more it drives the better 1st and 2nd sound so I think it's okay, just stressed. No more drags. I surpassed all my goals and I am gonna just drive the car without launching it and enjoy it. 1/4 time.....11.987 1/4 mph......119.32 1/8 time......7.912 1/8 mph......95.43 60 ft..........1.696 18g POWA on stock 2.0L! Thanks Scott and WRXAtlanta for the help and inspiration!
Milo you shouldn't be too far from it. I have to say that 60' had to have helped tremendously. What is the rule? For every .10 taken off the 60' = to about .5 seconds off the 1/4?
very nice times! :eek3: you should submit a time slip to www.scoobymile.com get your name on the board. :bigthumb:
oh, shit, you're the guy siegel txt msg'd me about... very impressive. i forgot your name so i was like "what the hell are you talking about?"... lol very impressive indeed congrats to you and scott!
For anyone that reads this the name's Delette. I was the one with the white 04 WRX at the 555 meet that had the gold graphics and the first 'I think' with the HUGE SOGPD logo on the door Thanks for the compliments guys. I am really really happy with the car. I went from 3 DSM's that broke my dreams to 1 Subie that gave me my dreams.
I dunno. He's this retarded guy that owns a riced out WRX and from what I hear he's addicted to some hard stuff. Heard it's meth or something. LOL
1/4 time.....11.987 1/4 mph......119.32 1/8 time......7.912 1/8 mph......95.43 60 ft..........1.696 Those are awesome times, the sixty foot is smoking Its not a record but its really good. Those are awesome times for an 18g you should be very proud, there are few that have gone faster on that turbo. Props to SS for the tune as well.
Thanks for being honest. Now the question is were the faster times on the 18g completely BONE STOCK engines/heads?
Yeah, there are some guys that have done it, not around here for sure though. I trapped faster on the 18G at one point, I think it was 121 but Ill have to check. I think the best I ever ran was a 12.4, we were having clutch issues, I switched to a GT30R right after that session at the track. You should be able to get further into the 11s with that setup, but honestly you will break the tranny before you get there. I can get you the hookup on a PPG Dog box when you are ready just let me know. Matt
MMMMmmmm dog box.....must not be tempted.... I don't know if I want the dog box as this is my daily. If anything I think I will get PPG straight 1/2 and keep the rest stock. I don't think I have that much of an issue with 3-5 gears on the car but I may be misinformed.
sorry for the thread jack Matt, what kinda price are we looking at for a nice set of PPG straight cut's?
I'm going off of memory so I'm not completely sure but by the time you get everything Straight Cut Gears 1st-4th Interlockers(shift forks) Syncros Fluid I think it worked out to Right at $5000 might have been $4000. Either way, the shop I use gets awesome deals on ppg stuff. At the time I got my stuff they didnt have an account with PPG but I belive they do now. Ill be happy to get you a qoute on one next time I'm by there if your interested. Matt
I can get it all straight from Andrew Tech already installed and ready to put back on the car for $4200. That includes 1-4th gears, double syncros, and the other little tidbits. Also guaranteed and done by possibly the best Subie tranny guy in the US.
Because I simply hate the shortness of the 6 speed. I love the longer gears but that is simply my opinion.
Even worst. Short gearing on it sucks. PPG all the way. I would do the STi swap only if I got a heck of a deal on it.
The gear ratios for the STI tranny are pretty horrible. If Andrew is doing it that cheap now then I would let him do it. However I dont think that price includes shift forks and sycros. I replaced every part in our tranny when I did it. Just for the record there is nothing hard about rebuilding a subaru tranny. I did mine with a little help from Dan at Batlground.
I was wondering about that. I rebuilt my AWD DSM tranny once but don't you have to have some special tools for the Subaru tranny? Or can your general do it yourselfer with loads of Craftsman tools (250 piece set with tidbits here and there) do it if he is very careful and observant (me?)?
You need a big press to press the gears on and off, you also need a set of bearing pullers\splitters, which I have and anyone is welcome to borrow.
If you saw the green car that is the 400 hp SR20DET 240SX we (Radicals) are working on. Oh and yeah our new shop car waxed me on the interstate....a freaking CIVIC! Yeah a GT35R powered Civic pushing 700 hp....lol
