I'll get pics of mine up in a few hours. I didn't take pics last night, so the rain washed a little bit of it away, but it's still super dirty. The only thing I didn't like was the mud getting into the brakes.
evertime i look at these pics i just think of how tempting this is...........we should all roll up to a meet looking like that.
So during the brake installation, The car was on the lift and I saw the undercarriage. So a good amount of dirt (though it still looks like I made no attempt to clean it) came off from a little bit of scrapping it off and pounding the car. I went to the Champion(s?) Car wash in front of the Sam's Club at Mall of Georgia, and it says it cleans the undercarriage... First time through there was still dirt/mud on my back window and roof. And of course the water turned orangey (Georgia Red Clay) under the car. Second time through, there was less dirt on the car. But it still was dripping the orange water. I havn't looked at my undercarriage then... But hopefully it'll be a lot cleaner. ALSO: Jake, we shouldn't have opened our windows with all the mud on them.... My window is always going to be dirty when I roll it down then back up. So if I want to clean that I will need to take the door panels off and clean the dirt inside of it. I'm going to be cleaning this car for months. Conclusion for off-roading: -Mud (and anything wet on the ground) = keep away -everything else = okay.
Whenever you want to do a meet to go mudding, I am down. I have been dying to find a place that I can take my car off road safely.
damn you make me jealous! i used to go off roading in the rex all the time when i had it. looks like yall had alot of fun! next time let me know. if im in town, ill bring the lanche out to play.
you guys are nuts for mudding. I hardly do that in my jeep anymore since I have been through one transmission b/c of water in the old one.. Just be safe
One little secret to cleaning out the undercarriage if you can is to get one of those yard sprinklers that shoot the wide shot through a bunch of different holes and goes back and forth. Put that under your car overnight and put it in different spots. Maybe do it a few nights. That'll get a lot of dirt gone. Here's the type of sprinkler I'm talking about: http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/sprinkler1.jpg
