I lost a major job today.

I Dj for the Atlanta Aparell Mart and they decided to switch things up and go with another Dj for the next show. They told me that the Dj that they hired actually works for the AparellMart...translation...coporate incest. I lost a job to some shmuck from the accounting department who probably can't tell a record from a hole in his ass. It really sucks when you do everything thing you can to do a good job, and you know that you are providing something special to people, and then someone comes a long and undercuts you. I really cared about that gig, and gave it my all when I was there, and...the money that I was going to make on the next show was going to pay for all of the mods that have done to my car over the past month and a half...there are two lessons here...1. Get a contract 2. Don't spend money you don't have.

I think that everything is going to be okay, besides the debt, which is only money...this could be a blessing in disguise. I have to hussle and find some new work, nothing wrong with that.

What pisses me off is that they waited till almost the last minuite to tell me...the show was in 2 weeks.

Thanks guys. It really ain't all that bad. Really the worst part about it was the bad timing...but really, there is never a good time to loose work.

    Thanks again.
    cheers.

Did you try talking with Flip or anyone else of the like? He's a DJ as well and maybe could point you in the right direction for something new.

It's going around. "I'd like you to interview a developer from India to make sure he's a good fit. He'll be getting your job once he's up to speed"

Damn, that sucks Marc. Have you tried Apres Diem? I just started working there not too long ago and they have live music or a DJ almost every night. You should come in and see if they have gig for you. Let me know if you are interested and I will let them know you are coming and put in a word for you.
