So I got back to Atlanta this evening from a work trip, left the airport, and on 285 not 10 minutes after leaving I threw a CEL. I went ahead and limped it to work in Conyers where I could hook up the Cobb AP to read it. It showed a p0128. So a quick google search showed that it was thermostat/coolant related. I just replaced the radiator with an all AL one and a new Gimmick regular temp thermostat back in the summer. I am going to check the coolant level in the morning but have these thermostats failed that quickly before? The engine temp gauge read above the second tick but not half way on the scale. That is where it has been since the new radiator install. Just a needle width or two below the factory reading before the replacement. Ideas? If the coolant is full I will keep driving until I can get time to drain and check the thermostat. I also cleared the CEL. I hope that does not affect me getting an emissions test later this week... I guess better then stuck closed for now. It was full of fluid this morning. I let it warm up to the first tick in the driveway and then drove to work. I turned and burned last night. Needle stayed at the same place. No CEL. I guess I will try and drain it this weekend and see if the Thermostat is failed open.
