On the way to the Summit Car show last night I threw a CEL. Luckily I was running ECUExplorer on the laptop and could immediately look at it. It is a P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold or something like that. I am running a gutted UP, TXS Stealth Back with high flow cat, and stock axle back. I was running an openECU map, but it was giving me trouble with my IAM. So to see if it was the map or my car I put the OEM map back on last Friday and the IAM has stayed at 16 where the others would have dropped by now. I did some Googling and found this. http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5468 Am I going to hurt anyhting by running with this until I can address it or is it just complaining?
I have not dove that deep to learn that just yet. I guess I can open the map in Enginuity, disable it, and save the map? I found this also. I guess this is why you want to change the closed loop setting before upgrading exhaust? http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qa3828/is_200606/ai_n17177314 Could I just fine the parameter to change for the closed loop setting on the OEM map and see what happens? Again is this hurtng anything?
What I would do is first disable the CEL (it's literally a checkbox), then if you want to mess with CL/OL cutover just copy the values (it's one or two small tables) from the modified openecu map over to your stock one...
Ok so I was driving back from lunch and after reading Will's call to check oil I had that on my mind. I pull in to my spot that will be shady by this afternoon and am sitting there and I noticed that my CEL has gone away. This has happened while at lunch. I did not notice when but I guess that is a good thing unless the light burned out... Weird :squint:
