The Hankooks have a SUPER soft sidewall compared to the RE070's.

IMHO if you SET YOUR CAR UP FOR THE TIRES...they are just as fast (225/45 vs 225/45) as the stock RE070s.

However, most people just dont run enough tire pressure to make them hook up and they burn the shoulders off and then they are toast.

On camber challenged cars (no plates/bolts....mostly stock suspension...with or w/out sway bars...etc...) it took ~55 psi for them to start working well. On cars with coilovers and lots of adjustability, it still takes 45~50 to make them work.

Now before someone says that thats too much psi....lemme tell you something...

I've run the 'recommended' pressures and the 'recommended' setups....its all garbage. I regularly run 45~50 psi in the RE070's, and you can ask the people BEHIND me what they run...35~40 range.

Back in the day when i ran race tires...I ran 45~50 on all kinds (Ecsta 700s, Victoracer 700s, V710s, Hooisers) and everyone else behind me was running the 'recommended' 30~40 psi range.

There is magic to the higher pressures....now whether you choose to run it or not, it up to you.

CN: Hankooks are softer but make much grip with higher pressure.

i asked this question earlier, but let me ask again.. is the falken rt615 a better dd tire compared to the hankook rs2 (about the same level of grip, considering that i have camber plates, swaybars, ALK, etc__and it's much better in the wet i hear) or the durable and yet grippy yokohama parada spec-2s?

    The Parada's SUCK.

The RT215/615 vs Hankook RS2 Z212 vs other similar performance level tire is like Ford vs Chevy vs Dodge.

I'd take a Hankook over the falken, but only because I have proven setups for the Hankooks. the falkens are nice...but for the price and performance level, I'd take the Hankooks.

But in the end...I'd take the Continental ContiSport Contact2 or Contact3 over ANY other tire, even the RE070.

    Contact2:

    Contact3:
    http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Continental&tireModel=ContiSportContact+3

For the time that I will actually have to BUY new tires...the Contis will be purchased. Otherwise...I've got a stockpile of RE070's for now.
