Timing belt / water pump noise

I just completed a timing belt change that included the belt, pulleys, tensioner, and water pump using the Gates kit.

I bled the coolant and started it up and everything was fine for a few minutes, then an intermittent whine started in the area near the water pump. Car has been driven less than a mile and now when idling the noise is consistent.

Any ideas on what could be causing the noise? With all new parts, it doesn't make much sense.

Dreading that I may need to pull the belt and start over.

    Thanks

It's a broad suggestion but any chance you might have put the tensioners for the ac belt and stuff on to tight/loose. Could be a bad tensioners on those belts. With out being in it's presence it's hard to diagnose

  3. When I did mine I had a whine that I swore was coming from the h20 pump.Redid it and put a new pump on.Still had a noise.Replaced the top o-ring for the p.s. pump and noise wnet away. Was not leaking fluid but was allowing a little air in the system..Just an idea..
