Hey Guys and Gals, My pilot sports are bald, and i am in need of new tires. I am definetly not putting any thing as a expensive back on.

Now for the criteria... i drive a good bit so something with a reasonabe treadwear is required(300+)... I also auto-x on weekends, so i need somthing that performs decently(Grippy and stiff sidewall) and last but not least PRICE, i dont want to spend an arm and a leg.

I havent done much research yet but i was wondering if anyone had any info on the Kumho SPT's? i think alex #2 is running them on his RX-8:dunno

    Thanks in advance!!!:wiggle:

The wife has a set of Falken Ziex's that are decently price and pretty grippy. I know Seth (black focus) has a set as well, and he likes them for daily driving. I am still all about the Nitto's NeoGen as a good autox street combo. They held up for three seasons of autox and are still running strong (now that I have the Hoosiers), but they are somewhat pricey if you go wide.

I was on the Falken Ziex's, and I didnt like them much at all. I got about 20k miles out of them (45k mile tires), and although that is probably partly my fault, they also tended to push a lot more, and were more expensive than my current tire, which is the BFG G-Force Sports. I like these a lot, especially for the price

KDW2's are really loud. Obnoxiously loud. I have them now and I hate it. The grip in wet and dry it amazing though compared to some of the other tires I've had.

Look at the SPT's or try and find a set of re070's.

Go down to Gran Turismo and ask for Kerin(sp) and buy whatever he tells you too.

My choice would be the Falken FK-451/FK-452. Treadwear is 280 but they should last awhile.

www.edgeracing.com has the best price. Discount Tire would be my next choice but they would have to order them.

For those of you that have not been to Gran Turismo, just go.

They are awesome people and Jeff probally has more experince with race car alignments than most of the other people in this state combined. He setup my 240 before I went to the track last week and wow, I mean WOW was is sweet. They can get any tire you can think of and I'm sure that they will match just about anything you can find.

I know there are several other people from the board that use them maybe they will chime in as well

+1 for the Gran Turismo folks.

    Can't beat 'em.
Not much help here, but really, go see them and do what they
    suggest.

yeah, back when i lived with my parents in norcross, that is where we got all of our alignments done. i wasn't really in to cars as much back then, but dad wouldn't let anyone else align any of his cars. he really liked the service there.
now if we only had a place like that down here in savannah....

Gran turismo loves me... they made me pink stickers. I will never take my car anywhere else.
