Ok so I've got a few questions on tire sizing and profile and such. Say I'm looking for a 285 30 18 tire for the STI, mainly to get close to the original 25.7" tire diameter. Now apparently non r-comp tire choices are kinda slim pickings at that size, admittedly it is a odd size when I think about it. Also, Michelin pilot super sports only come in 285 35 18. I thought because of the larger ratio, it would be a really 'tall' tire diameter-wise. However, tirerack lists the diameter as 25.9". Is there something I'm missing here? Or will that super sport actually fit and keep my speedo pretty close to the same?
ah good point, tirerack lists it was tested on a 10" rim, not an 11". Honestly, I suspect I should be looking at 295 or 395 width, but was just hoping to use a tire that I know is more than enough for my needs.
