Too much car for my brakes?

Was bleeding my brakes for Road Atlanta Saturday. Last time there I felt that there was too much play on initial braking, and they were hot as hell after a session and got mushy through the session. I was blaming it in part on rotor deflection because of my 5/100 hubs.

I've got RBF 600, XP10 front, XP8 rear, stainless lines, 2-piece DBA front rotors.

Bled the brakes today, this is a pic of the front pad (Carbotech XP10). That's after a 2-day RA event, all crumbly looking and the back is all white.

I noticed also a boot cracked on the passenger side front caliper, inboard side.

Any track people have comments on how those pads look? Good time for a caliper rebuild?

Think I'm past the usefulness of the stock caliper/rotor size or need some ducting?

What kind of times are you turning?

Also how about some rotor pictures, are you getting cracks in the rotor at all?

Looks like normal wear to me under track day use. I've seen worse.

Maybe add air ducts to the front rotors to help with the fade.

Biggest question here is tire, size and type. If you are on a legit sized rcomp and know your way around RA it could be time for a BBK, lets see a pic of the rotors.

Stock rear rotors look fine. DBAs up front have only had 2 track events, no cracks, still look smooth. There was some smearing on the fronts last time out at RA when the pads were new. I bedded them in on the HW as best I could.

Times: I really don't know. Last time out was the fastest I've been as far as speeds at the end of straights. Felt really good except I had to tap to bring the pedal out after the esses and before turns 1 and 5. I was using much tighter braking zones at 10A, 5 and 6 than I had the few times before now and trying to get higher entry speeds.

    Tires: 255 NT01.

Those pads don't actually look that bad, a RCE brake duct kit would certainly help but as you get faster you are going to start killing the stock rotors and calipers.

What color is the Brembo logo on your calipers?

that's what happens when one foot doesn't leave the brake pedal.

yeah...or you drive the car really hard on a track that's very brake intensive

I haven't been anywhere harder on brakes than RA. My wheels are too hot to touch when I pull into the pits. Didn't use anywhere near that much pad and I was romping the sh1t out of them.

Well they were good at RA Saturday. I worked on compressing my braking more at 10A, harder and shorter.

Now I notice tiny cracks around the drilled holes on the front rotors. I felt better about it after seeing worse cracks on the rotors of the Audi R8 parked next to me in the pits.
