My stock wrx turbo was making a hideous noise at 5000 rpms and above so i went ahead and changed it to an sti turbo, now it seems that the sti turbo is faintly making the same noise , it sounds like a a grinding and squealing noise combined. Seems like it isnt getting any oil to the turbo.
This all started after I put on my up pipe, any suggestions.
I have never heard of this problem before.

Since the old turbo had the same problem, have you verified oil is flowing to the turbo? And that it's really the turbo, not an engine bearing?

No I havent checked the oil line really we got done late last night but I will definetly check it after work. I hope its not an engine bearing, the block and everything are pretty much brand new. the noise does sound like the turbo might be dry spinning.

I'd have it checked out by a technician as soon as possible. It could be even more serious than that.

I'm assuming you primed the oil lines before starting the car too.

Take the car back to TS and have them look at it.

Havent drove it yet with the sti on . I dont have the money to take it to topspeed right now if i did it would be there.

This all started when I replaced my stock up pipe with a HKS up pipe, it is a solid pipe not a flex pipe. cold this have any thing to do with it?

Only if your oil line got crimped or pinched when installing the UP. Or there was debris dropped into the pipes.
