Forced Performance The new TD05-68HTA is FP's successor to the standard MHI 18G turbo and utilizes Hydraulic Turbine Assisted (HTA) compressor technology, allowing the 68HTA to operate with less backpressure and lower compressor outlet temperatures to maximize low and mid-range rpm boost response. This means that the 68HTA compressor is capable of pushing a max volume of 47lb/min while still outspooling the standard TD05-18G. The 68GTA TD05 (2.4 inch inlet) compressor housing is coupled with a 7cm exhaust housing, designed for the best compromise between top end power and boost response. The TD05-68HTA uses an internal wastegate, includes an 8psi upgraded wastegate actuator and is intended to give the best performance when tuned between 18-28psi. The TD05 68HTA is a true 350whp turbo with a noticeable but generally tolerable lag increase on a 2.0 WRX. The 68HTA is a good 'medium' sized turbo option for 2.5 WRX and STi models. You can expect the FP 68HTA to make between 320-360whp when tuned with proper supporting modifications FP RED There's not much to write about the FP Red Turbo for the WRX & STi, as most of the information on it is top-secret from Forced Performance. The FP Red is a huge Mitsubishi/Garret hybrid WRX & STi turbo capable of making 500+ hp at the wheels. However, although the FP Red has OEM-type Subaru flanging, this is not a simple bolt-on and go turbo -- the 3" inlet requires a Perrin inlet hose and removal of the tumbler generator valves. To reach the FP Red's full potential, extensive tuning and supporting modifications are required. The standard configuration FP Red uses a Subaru type water cooled bearing housing with both water connections on the same side of the CHRA. The thread specifications for the wet housing are as follows: Oil inlet - 10mm x 1.5mm, Water in/out 14mm x 1.5 (same side). 30 psi appears to be the limit of the FP Red's internal wastegate. This turbo makes most of its power at high boost on race gas, while it is capable of producing high power numbers, it is laggy. IHI IHI turbos are a direct bolt-on for the 02-07 WRX utilizing the factory mounting points and attaching to the factory oil and coolant lines. Although these are a great upgrade for a 2.0L WRX, any 2.5L WRX should be considering some of the larger options as the power gains from the IHI turbos will be minimal (The VF39 is the OEM 04-06 STi turbo, the VF43 is stock 2007 STi turbo, and the VF48 is the 08 STi turbo so they are not upgrades for these cars). IHI VF43: The IHI VF43 comes stock on the 2007 STi. It has almost identical features of the VF39 with a thrust bearing and a P18 exhaust housing, but the wastegate opening is larger to relieve boost creep issues. The VF43 is capable of 290 whp* on the EJ20. IHI VF48: The IHI VF48 comes stock on the 2008 STi. Not much is known about this turbo yet as it has recently been introduced, but it has already made huge power numbers on the 08 STi ATP ATP's range of bolt-on Garret turbos are designed to provide the performance of a dual ball-bearing turbocharger with the convenience of a stock-location turbo. The ATP WRX & STi turbos easily install in place of the stock journal bearing turbo, due to the high-flowing GT-inspired ATP WRX & STi exhaust housing and a series of custom engineered components built to suit the installation In addition, ATP reccomends a higher flowing 3" turbo inlet, like the Perrin, Agency Power or APS. If you must use a stock-sized inlet, you will need to source a 2.4" to 3" reduction coupler, as the ATP turbos have a 3" inlet.We recommend using a matching-sized 3" inlet for minimal restriction, since GT turbos thrive with minimal inlet obstruction. ATP's tests have shown that these turbos, when used with the stock sized 2.4" inlet, produce significantly less power than when used with the 3" inlet. When coupled with a 3" downpipe, the 3" inlet promotes faster spool, and higher power numbers with less pressure at the manifold. GT2860RS: The smallest of the ATP bolt-on WRX & STi turbos, the GT2860RS AKA "GT28RS," is good for small engines, like the 2.0L EJ20, where fast spool is a priority. The GT28RS uses a 53.85mm turbine wheel with a 76 trim and 60mm, 62 trim compressor wheel to provide good spool characteristics and a nice power upgrade GT2871R: Bigger than the GT28RS, ATP's GT2871R has slower spool, but can handle around 400 horsepower. This is a good turbo for built-engine 2.0L WRXs that don't mind adding some lag for some more top-end performance. This turbo is still pretty small for a 2.5L, but will have rapid spool if you decide to go that route. The GT2871R uses a 53.85mm 76 trim turbine wheel and 71mm, 56 trim compressor wheel GT3071R: ATP's GT3071R is a great match for the 06+ WRX & 04-09 STI's 2.5L engine, especially if you're looking for boost threshold that is close to stock but want enough airflow for 450+ hp. Almost all the boost is available all the time; even at part to medium throttle!. Boost recovery between gearshifts is awesome with full boost ready even before upshift is complete as the STI lurches forward with shear enthusiasm at the onset of each gear. If you have a built 2.0L and are shooting for 450+ hp, this turbo will work, although it will have significant lag. The modern generation of Garrett wheels, coupled with an awesome wheel ratio, allows even the smaller displacement EJ20 engine to provide adequate motivation to get the GT3071R going for a great powerband. The 3071R competition-grade turbo still offers the best response and spooltime out of any unit in this flow range. The GT3071R uses a 60mm 84tim turbine wheel and 71mm 56 trim compressor wheel GT3076R: ATP describes the GT3076R as "the right tool to do 500+ HP job." This turbo can support 500+ horsepower on the 2.5L. While the 3076R has a little more lag than the smaller units (it makes boost about 400RPMs later than the GT3071R), but it makes more top-end power. We do not recommend this turbo for 2.0L cars, unless they are full-race, built-block applications with head work. ATP's WRX & STi GT3076R is the modern "GT30R" and not the sporatically named -10, -11, -12, -13, -14 series from the old days misused and abused as "GT30's". If you're looking for a 500hp turbo for your WRX or STi that is streetable, and has a decent powerband, look no further. The GT3076R has a 60mm turbine wheel with an 84 trim and 76.2mm, 56 trim compressor wheel.

The slip-fit flange design allows for perfect fitment, and expansion under the extreme post-turbo heat to resist cracking. At the downpipe's base, is a 3" flat flange, that will bolt up to a stock exhaust or stock-location aftermarket catback exhaust.
