Matt I will get one but I need to close on this house I'm trying to buy first. We ran into a few legal snags that has to get ironed out but I will chime back in when we close and get moved in.
Are yous till doing this group buy? It looks like he has completely changed the design of the pickup now.
I am not, but I do not see why we cannot work something out with Killer B. Approximately how many people are interested in this? I would imagine if we can swing 5 we will have some decent bargaining power -- we could even offer to make a small down payment towards his upcoming oil pan to sweeten the deal.
I was about to order one and I remembered this thread. I'll wait a little while to help get the # up, but not too long. I'd be pissed if it snapped while I'm waiting. Eddie and I make two on the list... I'd say Drew, but...
 I'm on the list now, pan + pickup. I'm also doing the accusump system...I'll be damned if this happens again...
I am in for sure.....after all the oil pickup tube failures lately you would think everyone would get in on this.
How much would labor for installing a pickup tube typically run? (I'm practicing/learning wrenching skills on my old car but not so-much on the sti)
probably a couple hours, but it's pretty easy. Just drain your oil, unbolt the pan (there's probably 10 or so bolts that are kinda a PITA, then put the new pickup tube in. There's a good write up on nabisco, I believe...I saw the link somewhere in a thread on here. Edit: Found it
If we're still talking $200, and we can get these in a reasonable timeframe include me as a buyer. When details firm up let me know how I should pay.
Let me see what we can get together. Anyone who wants one just shoot me a PM it will be easier to keep track of that way
Matt, I spoke with him earlier today about this. Give me a call -- if you want to arrange the GB that's fine, otherwise I have the go ahead on my end from him as well. :wavey:
I talked to him about the group buy as well, we should be good to go. Alex feel free to give me a call later and Ill fill you in.
Thanks. I called Chris as well, seems to be a good guy. I'm in if we are near the group of 5 needed and can get this group buy finalized in the next week or two.
I think we can finalize it in a day or two, I'm just waiting on a response from two more people and then Ill send out PMs with deposit details
http://www.killerbmotorsport.com/index_files/UltimateOiPickup.htm That is what the new pickup looks like. I dont think the one posted in this thread was ever produced.
After reading up on this a bit more I think an improved pick-up is a must. I don't want to play Russian roulette with my motors longevity due to something stupid like a likely manufacturers defect. Here's a YouTube video I found, and I hope it's not a repost. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBmap_n6WNQ
Looks like from the video it must have been a run of parts that had brittle metal or something because the new one they got and tested seemed to hold up to a LOT.
Ok everyone whos on the list...pay up we are ordering in two weeks You can paypal the money to ball(dot)matthew(at)gmail(dot)com
