Yes, you need to get a 2.2K ohm resister and plug it into the female connector from the EGT probe. It's for EGT too high since the EGT sensor is reading the exhaust temp with no cat.

yes..you have to get a 2.2 khm resistor and put it in the plug..or get EM and clear it that way

You may want to look into installing a Hayden 403 tranny oil cooler and running synthetic automatic tranny fluid to keep your transmission temps down as your raise the HP.

is it worth putting(up-pipe) if i only got an intake and catback (hp gain) will it make a difference since i dont plan to install anymore mods?

  11. moose

    moose Infina Mooooooose!

You won't gain much if any hp on the top end, but the turbo will spool quicker.

Though on an '04 I would not do much of anything without engine management.

    yes definately
may want to get a tune too because of your Intake if you add an UP. you might as well add a Shorty DP since you have to take the DP off or gutt one.

ive got an 05 .. if you were talking to me =P heheh

yeah no power diff.. but spool is evident

  14. BE VERY AWARE, that the 04-05s have the delay in open loop and closed loop. You are running lean when going wide open throttle until the top of the rpm band, THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS and I highly reccommend getting EM soon. The up pipe and downpipe magnify this effect. Check NASIOC for the official thread with documentation. I purchased my Cobb AP because of this and am taking care of it today.

Yep, that's what I was referring to above. Mine would regularly top 5,000 RPM at 14+ psi with a 14.7:1 air/fuel ratio. STOCK.

It's not going to make your car assplode during daily driving, but you probably don't want to romp on it too much without some form of engine management.

is it the same for the 02' though em is next on my list. but wont be able to get to it no timre soon

As far as I know, the 02/03 delay is nowhere near that of the 04/05. So I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

It's $645 list for 06 cars. The 05 should be $595 unless they're jacking the price up on it. Did you ask specifically for an 05? Also, mention you're a wrxatl member. :)

ah, didnt even ask =) thanks im going there today to order one

  30. If you buy a used one you run the risk that the last person that owned it didnt unmarry it correctly or even at all! Not a good thing!

I bought mine used and overnighted from Spun AutoSports on Nasioc. Ordered and got it next day for 620. Not bad at all.

I read this thread below and about shat myself. Seriously, this is a big issue that SOA really hasnt addressed to my knowledge.

I floored it today on the way to lunch one time with the new up pipe and turbo back and feel that the car needs more fuel. Maybe its all in my head now, but yeah.

AP for 02-05 is $595. 06+ is $645. These prices are off Cobb's website and iirc, cobb vendors are not allowed to discount their AP's.
