Hey yall I just got a helix flex uppipe and was looking to install it next Saturday? Just seeing who would want to help out I have no tools or anything, so hopefully a garage with tools. If anybody can help out it would be awesome, I'm really aching to get this thing on, but lack the skills/tools to do it on my own (not to mention the money to get it done at Knowledge) . Craig
I dont know, next sat. is the scca autox and drift comp. @ turner field I believe. I'm not even sure I'll be able to make it to that, but I hope so :bigthumb:
Just to let you Suby, that the uppipe is not a easy install at all. I watched the guy that put mine in, and he had a hell of a time installing it. Pretty much everything comes off. Downpipe,Intercooler,Turbo, hoses, clams, and much more. But if your up for it. I will help you out with everything I can. I have plenty of tools and stuff, so just let me know if you need the help.
i also considered do UP installation for doing myself, but it'll be alot better to pay $200-250 at reputable place.
Doesn't Mahdavi Motorsports do it for like 75, at least thats what I've heard. Just asking cause I should have my up/down/muffler end of this week or beginning of next. I have no problem paying 200 to 300 to get it done, but would rather pay less. I might ask Porter to help me, but he might be busy with a new venture now that he left Classic.
I can give you some instructions for a DP, but UP are even more labor intensive... I would personally suggest unless you know 100% what you're doing that you just shell out the money to get it done correctly. Doing this is the quickest way, rather than waiting for the time when someone who knows exactly what they are doing is free.
yeah cancel this, I've got it booked at Mahdavi for saturday morning, they are going to do it for $140 which is a great price from what I hear, plus I've heard good things about them. Craig
Yeah I got my springs put on there. They do good work. Much cheeper than Knowledge. I got my Up/Downpipe put on a TwistedTuning in Alpheretta. One of my buddies is the owner so he hooked it up. Like 200 for both the uppipe and downpipe install. Took them 3 hours though, so you better be ready to do nothing for a couple hours.
I'm gonna make my mom tag along and take me there , don't think any of my friends will get me there for 8 am .
Yeah Word? Your really going to notice a change in power and low end torgue. Its great I love it. But I'm stuck with a 2.5 RS loaner for the rest of the week. WooHoo !! Not!!
DIY uppipe Hey dude, This is probably a little late, but wanted to chime in here & say that I installed my up pipe myself. It can be done in a day if you're willing to bust ass, but for safety's sake, plan on making it a weekend job. There's a critical point when the old one comes out. It's too big to pull through the top or the bottom. The solutions are either A) remove turbo or B) loosen engine mounts & jack engine. Just FYI, if you do it yourself, make sure you buy new gaskets before you start. Anyway, if you still want to do it yourself, I'll be glad to show you how, but it'll have to wait until a free weekend next year. Heading home to FL pretty soon, & won't have a spare weekend until Jan/Feb ish. -Laters! -Chris!
Lol. That's what I get for not reading daily... hehe. Well, good deal & all that. Welcome to the land where turbos actually spool up quickly. -Laters! -Chris!
