So first of all let me go ahead and say to myself "Search noob!"

Now that that's out of the way, I'm planning and bringing a gutted-up on install day and I was just wondering what all I would need to get it on there (other than help from more experienced members :)).

Also, I'm guessing that new gaskets would probably be an amazing idea. Would sog probably be the best place to get them from? And if so is the parts department open on Saturdays? I kind of forgot about gaskets untill just now so I know I'm cutting it close.

yeah gaskets, and studs that go into the turbo part. umm might as well get oil and filter and some radiator fluid too. easiest way to do it is to remove the turbo. u could try to plug the lines really quick when u take it out, but honestly just easier (and cleaner/less mess) to drain the fluids first.

I jacked up the motor about 2 inches. Made it a lot easier because the up-pipe could just slide right back in and out. What I did is bought an extra up-pipe before hand and took my time with gutting it. Then, I just did the install without having to worry about gutting it. Make sure you have a nice drill and bits for the gutting process. Makes it go so much more easily.

i recommend always getting new gaskets to avoid leaks and having to strip everything off again to fix a leak.

OK, so it doesn't look like I'm going to be doing this install at the install day. I need to get some gaskets and will probably just try to recruit some help sometime over this next semester. I'll probably just hold off until I finally get a dp anyways :)

Never had to do that either. As long as you wiggle/twist it right it'll come out with both turbo and engine in place.

Also, I always say this and will always keep saying it: USE A TORQUE WRENCH IF YOU WANT TO AVOID LEAKS.
