Anyone seen or heard anything about this? http://www.usf1.com/ I caught some of the interview with the two guys trying to start it at lunch today. They're trying to get up and going for the 2010 season. It would be awesome if they could pull it off but I have my doubts
I happened to watch the NASCAR race Sunday and the announcers were talking about rumors that aj almendinger was supposed to drive one of the cars. Seeing as how they said he wasn't denying any of it and he came from Indy I wouldn't be surprised.
http://www.autoweek.com/article/20090224/FREE/902249990 I am real excited about this - F1 is a mechanical engineers wet dream! And its based out of Charlotte, NC! I hope to god they are not seriously considering Danica either... the girl isn't even competitive in IndyCar! One win in how many years?!?
Yeah but as an avid Indycar fan, I will say that she's done a ton for the image of the sport and many more races are selling out. More attention to the sport attracts better drivers and higher payouts. If this goes through it'll be great for our country but there's still no F1 races set for north america, and I'm particularly upset at the removal of Montreal from the series. Indianapolis Motor Speedway has an F1 track paved into the infield but after the Michelin fiasco a few years back it may never be used again.
im not sure an american can really compete in F1, its such an intense sport. but i hope to be proven wrong.
