Just a quickie... I think the sample test we were given for tomorrow's final has an error.

Vector from point (2,1) to (-7,-1).

    Write in rectangular coordinate form.

    I get v = (-7-2)i + (-1-1)j = -9i - 2j

    Sample test answers are
    a) -9i
    b) 9i
    c) -9j
    d) 9j

    I don't think it's right... somebody confirm.

If my vector addition is correct, they should have the j^ (j hat) direction as well...

Odd, I would choose the -9i since it comes first regardless.

Draw the vector, it should look correct. Within the plane of the i,j dimension, we know 9i should at least be in there...
