  1. The plus with this is? i just found the whole set up for 1600.00 will this produce more power then a vf34?

  2. GTscoob

    GTscoob Black is Beautiful

Is that for the whole motor and twinscroll setup?

The JDM engines have majorly ported heads and higher flowing cams compared to the US motors and flow very well even up into the stratosphere of engine speeds (I've heard the ver7 and ver8 motors will take 8K rpm all day long).

The twinscroll turboes spool a lot quicker than a regular turbo. Combined with the AVCS of the JDM engines they make great torque through the midrange and decent topend. I think those motors come with a VF36 or VF37 turbo (one is just a ball bearing version of the other just like VF30/34). One of the big advantages is that you can spool a very large turbo quickly for minimal lag and a lot of topend punch. You are very limited on turbo upgrades with the twinscroll. Power Enterprises makes a turbo (1825 I believe) that is the equivalent to the VF36 as the 1820 is to the VF22. Deadbolt has made an 1825 clone for a NASIOC member for much cheaper than the PE model.

JDM engines with the twin scroll setup make a lot more power than the regular turbo versions. If you are talking about bolting up the exhaust manifold, UP, turbo, and DP onto a US EJ20 I'm not sure how the power differences would be. I would gather that you would have a lot broader torque curve than with the VF34 but you would still be limited on the topend by the USDM heads and cams.
