It's old technology but just cool. There are some flaws with longevity on those but again still cool.
Yeah I was wondering about that...that and the lack of lubrication to the "valves." I mean with them having to seal, they have metal to metal contact which seems like it would slowly damage bearings without any sort of lubrication.
Edit: looks like from what I can tell about the pictures, they just spin around and around. Not sure how they would seal well...but I guess they do. Even such bearings would seem to work better with some form of lubrication or cooling such as those in bb turbos.
