i got a killer deal and ordered it. it came in last week and i put it on saturday morning. fitment was exact...gaps are even and stock like. no adjustments needed at all and thats a first for me when installing an aftermarket hood. the underside was a bitch though. i had to take a dremel to the underside to make holes to be able to install the IC shroud. its not hard but definantly not something you wanna do to a brand new hood. either way it worked out well and looks great. i have the CF scoop on but i'm going to switch it to the stock WRB scoop as soon as i get the stock hood home. anyone want it?
I may keep both and keep the cf scoop for the bigger and better things that may or may not be in store
cuz i like the contrasting of the scoop. but imma gonna keep it on for alittle while until we get tired of it
i will be switching sometime soon just not yet. and yes i got your pm and its cool. i usually don't work w/e's anyways
if u want the contrast in color, y not get a WRB STi scoop... bigger scoop = better air flow through intercooler = happier WRX
hey how do you like that cf hood? my stocker was attacked by a shingle and flying ice and i'm toying with the idea of getting cf as a replacement. i think it'll look bitchin on my wagon. how much was it? how durable are those things? i read on NASIOC that without hood pins you are risking serious damage, whats your take on that? i'm relativly new at modding so yeah i have questions.
i got the hood for $500 shipped but i split the shipping cost witha friend and i also got a GREAT deal on the actual hood. i would suggest only buying a seibon or a VIS hood (thats what i got) for quality purposes. i have had other CF and/or fiberglass hoods and i haven;t used pins since some of the early hoods. i just got back from a 700+ mile round trip from hilton head without hood pins during a heavy storm and the ood never waivered. i don't worry about it too much
