    Hey everyone,

Coming in May to Columbus, GA will be an event similar in style (but not in cost) to rally events such as the Gumball 3000 or Bullrun. About 250 miles over 5 cities will be on the route to begin and end in Columbus, GA. This is going to be a fun alternative to a car show with raffles, drawings, contests and fun. Part of the proceeds will be given to charity as well. Pricing will be the same as if entering in a local car show.

Let me know if this is something you would be interested in.

Yes this will be on public roads. But in no way is this event illegal. This run will include numerous events. Poker run, scavenger hunt. 50/50, raffles. drawings, and a challenge at each stop. As far as law applies the sponsoring parties are not responsible for those that choose to speed. We reccomend this be a safe event and you obey all city , county and state laws. But that is up to you. a legal disclaimer will be signed just like any other event. But this will be well worth it. we have had great response so far. Hope to hear more questions from you guys. This is in the early stages of the planning and registration will be up and ready near the 1st of the year. The way it looks as of right now. we are looking at 100+ vehicles.

there is no web page directly for this event as of yet. that is in the works and there is no special insurance needed just what is required by your state.

This is just some friendly advice, you are opening youreself up for a lawsuit from hell, one that you can't win. You might want to take a look at other contest like this before you put it on.

Gumball, Cannonball(OLOA) etc....pretty much every event that allows you to drive on public roads...even at legal speeds makes you carry a 2 million dollar policy. If anything happens and someone in the event hits someone else then you will end up in a lawsuit like you wouldn't believe

Hey guys I just wanted to chime in as one of the organizers of this event. Thank you for your interest in this run and we hope we can count on your participation. After consulting with legal parties we have determined that this would carry the same liabilities as if you were having a car show. The user not only agrees to adhere to all laws of the county, city or state but also assumes all risks associated with such activities. Think of this as an organized road trip and not a contest because this is not a contest in any regard at all. There is no prize for finishing first and no incentive to arrive at a particular checkpoint in any type of order. This also could be considered in the same realm as when bikers organize rides to the beach or rides for POW's. By participating they assume all reasonable risks associated with the activity. Standard insurances and indemnities are sufficient for such. Generally a $2M policy isn't necessary in cases like this since we won't be crossing into other countries or driving Ferraris as they do in the Gumball 3000.

Once again this is not a race but rather an organized road trip which has checkpoints for contests not related to driving or racing. All risks are assumed by the participants.

Generally the policies are not to cover the cars, they are to cover the school bus full of nuns that one of youre contestants is going to hit. Also you would be suprised how organized some of those biker groups are.

Best of luck on youre event. Its not really my type of thing, I prefer real racing events.
