Strano makes a 32mm front sway bar for the STi, I don't know if fits on the earlier models of the WRX. Here is a picture of the bar next to my old 25mm diameter whiteline bar.

I wouldn't really suggest this bar if you are primarly tracking your car, my whiteline alone made the car squirelly on the track. However if you planning on autoxing a large front bar is extermely helpful. The turn in is so much faster I can't wait to try it out at an autox.

I love the stiff bar that we put in Mere's car, and I think it is fine for everyday use. We are going to the track this weekend, so we will see how the big bar works there. She still has the stock rear bar on her car, due to SCCA solo2 stock class rules.

You most likely have to call them to place an order, as everything isn't on their website.

The Front Swaybar from Whiteline is a 25-27, not 27-29. Still a big ass bar, and there should be little need to go with anything bigger.

If you aren't going to autocross, just go with the whiteline x3006

Is it the X3006? I got a Whiteline X3003? I think and SS told me it was 27-29, but when I checked Whitelines Website they said it was 25-27, don't know how I found that on Whitelines horrible website, but somehow I did once, and have never been able to replicate it. Whatever, doesn't really matter, for everyday use and drag racing any swaybar will work.

Whiteline states 25-28mm for the X3006, and X3003 was the older version of the bar that was stated to be 25-27mm. The X3006 was redesigned, as the X3003 didn't fit the 05 STi properly.

You should try out mere's car with the new Strano bar. It feels a lot stiffer, and should make a significant difference for autocross. Will have to try it at the next novice school :)

Here is a closeup of the difference:

The Strano bar doesn't taper at all, and has a lot less bends, which I am guessing is part of the reason for the substantially increased stiffness.

Brian, where did you order the bar from again? this way, at least, if shady prefers he can order it over the internet.

might have to call them, as everything they sell isn't on their website.

Bar is actually made by Addco, which is a huge oem supplier for anti-sway bars.

For the Strano bar, it is 32mm hollow, which I read equates to ~30mm solid.

I heard some say that the Whiteline isn't fully equivilant to 28mm for the X3006, but the X3006 is still a great bar.

The bottom line is that the Strano bar is stiffer and lighter. It might be too stiff for some, but it is perfect for autocross. I don't see any issues with daily drivability. It also costs the same as the Whiteline bar and comes with a more substantial endlink design, as opposed to using the stock endlinks with the whiteline bar.

Did Meres car have an aftermarket swaybar at the last Novice Day? I think you got her the bar after that. Her car was pretty much perfect as it was, at least compared to my WRX. The front diff alone makes a hugh difference.

The car was stock then. You will have to drive it at the next novice day and see what you think. The turn-in is much quicker and sharper now, compared to stock.
